I had the opportunity to represent Pittsburgh at the Berkshire Hathaway Summit Conference in San Diego this past September. The top 5% of Berkshire agents nationally were invited to come to the conference. We heard from national Berkshire Executives and keynote speakers and had the fantastic opportunity to have mastermind sessions with other agents throughout the country. We stayed at the historic Hotel Del Coronado which is a part of the Hilton Honors program.

We Had the neat opportunity to take a historic tour of the hotel led by a tour guide. She took us through many parts of the resort not typically seen by the general public.

The Navy Seals Team training facility is on Coronado Island. They had several sessions at the conference honoring our service members and veterans. This was at the closing event where they had a Navy Seal skydive onto the beach with the American flag.

Overall this conference was a wonderful opportunity to network with other successful agents from throughout the country and celebrate our accomplishments from the past year. Thank you to everyone in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas who have supported my business enabling me to be invited to this prestegious conference.
Many of you who know me well know that I enjoy using reward point as an oportunity to travel around the world for a fraction of the usual cost. The cost of a hotel room during the conference was $700 per night. As a Hilton Honors Aspire credit card holder I enjoy diamond status with Hilton, a free night annually at any Hilton hotel in the world and a $250 resort credit per year. My wife and I utilized these benefits for a free stay during the conference. Keep in mind that the annual fee on this card is $450 annually, however the signup bonus right now is offering 150,000 Hilton points in addition to the above benefits. To put the value of the points into perspective, one night at this hotel would cost 80,000 hilton points per night. This in my opinion far outweighs the expensive annual fee. They also have less expensive cards available like the Hilton Surpass available. This one does not offer a free night certificate, but will give you at least 180,000 Hilton Points after you spend $10,000 on the card within 1 year of opening. How did we fly to San Diego? We flew with Southwest Airlines on points and used our companion pass for Alycia to fly for free. The signup bonus on Southwest right now is 100,000 points, so you could fairly easily earn the companion pass for the next two years if you sign up for the card. Southwest Card Application
